We hope you enjoyed our special holiday gift guide, but our Favorites Collection is back! We’ve missed sharing our recipes, workouts, activewear, and everything else we love with you! And while some of these recommendations may not be items you buy, don’t forget to check out our Amazon Storefront here for everything from December.Â
This month, we’re excited to share with you our favorite habit, book, studio, and brand – and we know you’ll be just as obsessed with them as we are! We won’t keep you waiting any longer: here are our January Favorites!
Habit:
Workouts you can do at home!
As January is usually a month filled with spending time cozying up at home, or jet setting to exotic destinations, it can be hard to make time for your established fitness routine. But that doesn’t mean it's impossible – although guided classes are nice, you can still move your body on your own time, wherever you currently are! Here are our favorite ways to workout ‘from home’:
Walking/running: the absolute easiest way to get your body moving. For as short as 20 minutes per day and accessible from wherever you are, you will reap so many benefits, including cardiovascular health, mental health, joint and muscle health, boosted immunity, and more. There is no excuse not to go for a walk! If you’re looking for an up level, pick your walking pace up to a jog, or even a full run.Â
Form App: developed by fitness fanatics who were tired of paying studio prices and wanted to get a burn at home, we bring you Form! With hundreds of workouts to choose from – pilates, strength, gym routines, and specialized programs – nutritious recipes, daily affirmations, and wellness habits, Form has everything you need. They even have a New Year January Jumpstart program! Start your 7-day free trial today.
Fitness influencers: social media has become one of the most helpful communities in finding fitness routines that work for you. From studios, to teachers, to personal trainers, everyone is posting at home workouts! Finding ‘influencers’ you connect with can help you to build a program that suits your body, feel inspired, and open your eyes to new forms of movement or exercises you never knew existed!Â
Read:Â
Why Fish Don’t Exist by Lulu Miller
Our choice book of January, Why Fish Don’t Exist, written by NPR reporter, Lulu Miller, is a nonfiction novel that explores the life of famous taxonomist, David Starr Jordan. Having spent his life cataloging nearly a fifth of the world’s known fish, Jordan watched as his work was destroyed by lightning, fire, and the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.Â
Part memoir, part biography, Why Fish Don’t Exist is Miller’s exploration of perspective, order, resilience, and how to live fiercely in a world made of chaos. We think Jordan’s story is thought provoking and the perfect read for a time of self-discovery – a YogaKoh or RetreatKoh adventure.
Studio:Â
