THE PROGRAM
BECOME A TEACHER WITH A DIFFERENCE
YogaKoh is offering an amazing opportunity for you to experience your teacher training on the pristine and awe-inspiring coast of Northeast New Zealand. A dreamscape built with love by a community of family members, longtime crew, volunteers, and travelers from all over the world. An actual working farm that will become your home away from home.
This training is designed to challenge you from Day 1. We delve deep into the most important elements of the practice. Philosophy, asana, pranyama, meditation, energetics and specialty topics, but most importantly we focus on the art of teaching, finding your voice and the confidence to lead your own class by the end of the month. We combine the importance of tradition with the beauty of creativity and the support of modern science. Your experienced teachers are hands on and 100% invested in your success. We want you to shine, and will give you the tools to make this dream a reality.
Yoga is a way of life, and with our YTT program we give you the tools to find your own way, and encourage you to share it with others.
Find out for yourself why this is a training with a difference. We laugh, share, grow and learn together. You might come on your own, but trust us, you will leave as part of a koh-mmunity.
Step out of your comfort zone and learn to ride a wave. Trust yourself to come into a handstand. Walk through the hillside in the late afternoon and see for yourself why the New Zealand way of living will make an everlasting impact on you and your practice!

The wooden floor and high ceiling make for a beautiful space for practicing, learning and teaching yoga. Step outside of the studio and you have spacious porches with cozy seatings and hammocks looking over the calming view of the kiwi farmland.
Away from the wool-shed area, there is an abundance of relaxing nature environments perfect for
practicing and studying, whether it may be surrounded by our beautiful gardens, horses in the
paddock, kauri trees in the native forest, or one of our nearby beaches.

FOOD

These meals are prepared
onsite and by our private chef.
Sustainability is what we believe in at the farm and is reflected in our food. Our permaculture gardens provide us with the majority of our vegetables and what we can't
grow ourselves we are looking for locally, following seasonal produce and sustainable packaging to
keep quality high and environmental impact low.

NOV / DEC 2023 FACULTY

Bruce Chung
Lead Teacher
Bruce believes yoga is a practice of doing and being. In the months following his first yoga class in 2005, Bruce started to see major shifts in his life which he can only attribute to yoga. He stopped smoking, he became kinder to others and to himself, he realised that there was more to life than his 9 to 5 in banking.
In 2009, Bruce emigrated from Canada and in the years since then has lived and taught yoga in Singapore, Bali, Dublin, Bangkok, Hong Kong and San Francisco. An international yoga teacher and bona fide traveling yogi, Bruce has had the privilege of leading workshops, retreats, and trainings across Asia, Europe and Southern Africa.
Bruce has thousands of hours of trainings and has been lucky enough to study with renowned teachers like Briohny Smyth and Dice Iida-Klein, Jason Crandell, and Tiffany Cruickshank, to name a few. He believes that every teacher has something to share, and as a result of the many teachers he’s practiced with, his practice is as varied as it is colourful.
Bruce’s practice and thus teaching is multi-layered and influenced by the ongoing studies, both with teachers and through self, and uniquely the experiences and connections he has had through his globe-trotting.

Amy Atkinson
Assistant Teacher
Amy discovered yoga in 2017 after moving out of the city in search for a home in the wild coastlines of Piha NZ. What first started as a way to “stay fit” from home, quickly evolved and transformed into a practice that brought her closer to Source and Self, that allowed space for self enquiry and compassion and the profound realisation that the home and sense of belonging that she longed for was with her all along.
After a few years of self taught discoveries, In 2021 she realised that her passion for yoga was unfolding beyond being a mere hobby and longed to deepen her understanding of the practice that was transforming her life. She also knew that this was something worth sharing and felt a deep desire to share it with others. It was at this point, she decided to take the plunge and attend her first teacher training in her home country at YogaKoh's 200hr YTT.
Since then she has been focused on primarily teaching 1:1 yoga, retreats and building and sharing with her community online. To encourage and help facilitate space so that others can experience and discover the peace of being in their own divine nature.
